Well its been a few days since my last update, now much is new, I’m going to be studying for CompTIA’s Security+ exam. As a study guide I picked up a copy of All-in-One’s CompTIA Security+ Exam Guide, Second Edition. I plan to take the exam sometime during the 3rd week of March, which gives me a bit of time to recover from having my wisdom teeth taken out and to begin studying. Upon completion of the exam, I will make a post (part 2 to this) with a review of the test, how the book helped, and what all I don’t recall seeing in the book.

Well, its been almost a month since my last update, I’m back stateside so I should be updating the blog more with random stuff, such as my occasional swing trades, stuff I do in class that I think its cool, etc. I personally haven’t been up to too much, playing Counter Strike again with some friends and applying for jobs while I continue taking online classes. Many of you will notice we switched back to the old style on the blog, I just wasn’t as font of this one as I was hoping to be. It looked cool at first, but it wasn’t the greatest thing on earth. I’m open to suggestions if anyone has a theme they like better or think would be better for a personal blog mixed with some of my geek related stuff I post about.

Yesterday night I was ready to scream at my VPS, because I kept getting:

WARNING: MaxClients of 1000 exceeds ServerLimit value of 256 servers,
lowering MaxClients to 256. To increase, please see the ServerLimit directive.… Read More

Sadly, in my tiredness and googleing I didn’t immediately find the answer until today shortly after I woke up, I finally found the solution here. In short “ServerLimit” MUST MUST gobefore MaxClients otherwise this error will show up, no matter how many times you check that you spelled everything right, and how many times you restart the service!

ServerLimit 1000
MaxClients 1000

Simple fix, but if you don’t know, it can be quite a headache!

Did a swing trade today since I pulled an all nighter didn’t go too bad, there’s still opportunity to jump in for those that don’t mind high volatility. Matech Corp (MTCH) I was in at $0.1065 out at $0.1165. For a while it was floating between $0.108 and $0.114, but that will change a lot throughout the day.

Removing applications on Facebook

This can be accomplished pretty easily:

Sign into your Facebook

Go to “Application settings” (http://www.facebook.com/editapps.php?ref=mb)

Look for the application you want to remove and click on the “x”, should you not see it next to show, drop the menu down and select “authorized” this should show everything.

First step: sign into your Facebook

Go here: http://www.facebook.com/home.php?ref=logo#/groups.php?ref=ts (or look up groups in the search feature).

Click on the button on the upper right that says “create a group”

Fill out the required info and click “Create group”

APNIC finding IP ranges for an ISP

Heres a quick and dirty solution;

Go here http://wq.apnic.net/apnic-bin/whois.pl

Look up one of the IPs you know of in the range

Look for: mnt-lower

Change the Inverse attributes to mnt-lower

Then do a look up for: MAINT-AU-TIAR-AP (example)

Now click search and all the ranges will come up.
