Error verifying STEAM UserID ticket

I dont get many problems with Steam, however when I do, I usually share on my blog, and the solution or work around; this one “Error verifying STEAM UserID ticket” is pretty easy to take care of.

Simply open up my computer, go to

C:\Program Files\Steam\

Remove ClientRegistry.blob

Sometimes this error comes up because you signed into steam at a friends place and forgot to sign out. However beyond that I’m not to sure. This also fixes the platform error problem other people got in the past.

platform_Error_bad_module_Friends_friendsUI_dll_not_loading

This is actually quite a simple fix.

For those of you looking for a simple solution to this:

Fire up my computer; go to C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\

Remove winui.gcf

In the past I removed ClientRegistry.blob & friendsUI.dll from the C:\Program Files\Steam\ folder and that sufficed. However since the original posting, it seems that has changed.
