Generally I have a decent experience at most of the places I go to, however recently I had a need for extra pages to be put into my passport within 24 hours and there wasn’t too much choice here in Kuwait as far as appointments, the next appointment was Sunday, so I deiced to look around. So curiosity struck, which consulate could do it fastest in the region? Here is my review:

Abu Dhabi – Easy to get an appointment on short notice and it takes ~1 hour.
Dubai – More difficult to get an appointment on short notice, takes ~1 hour.
Qatar – Appointment difficulty varies, takes one business day.
Bahrain – Easy to get an appointment on short notice and it takes ~1 hour.
Kuwait – More difficult to get an appointment on short notice, next business day after 1 PM.
Lebanon – More difficult to get an appointment on short notice, next business day.

I will admit though, the Kuwait Embassy was very nice and emailed me super fast with the next available appointment. However I ended up going to Abu Dhabi and having it done, it took them 30 minutes from the time I paid to get my passport back and the staff was super nice! I know a lot of defense contractors work in Kuwait and sometimes waiting isn’t an option (such as you need two pages to cancel your residency) so if you need extra pages on super short notice, check out Abu Dhabi, make an afternoon appointment, and book the early morning Etihad Air flight out of KWI to AUH and book the late afternoon one back. It is possible to do in a “day trip”. Make sure you already don’t have two inserts of pages in your passport, otherwise you will need to get a new one and this takes much longer! Good luck!
